I am sure they could. But as far as we know they haven't and have not indicated they have, to the poster in question.
They held her in a room and forced her in a high pressure situation to sign something. They may as well rip that up now as it means nothing. They obtained a signature through fear.
I am not saying what the poster has done is right or wrong but I would say the shop have committed more of a crime than the poster.
