BR and backdated pay rise
Troubles
Hi all,
I was looking for some advice. My husband and I were declared bankrupt in July, we both pay the OR a set amount per month. Next month my husband will receive roughly £300 of a backdated pay rise. I know that if you work overtime you are allowed to keep a certain percentage each month, but I have no idea if we will need to give all of the back pay to the OR or if we can keep some.
I would ask the solicitors who are handling the case but they have already tried to wrongly increase the amounts we pay so I just don't trust them!
Had anyone been in a similar situation, any advice would be appreciated
Thanks
Karen

Hi Karen, as a public sector worker - I got a 1% payrise (first one in 4 years...but that's another rant) and this meant my pay in September had an amount that was the rise back dated to April 1st. I emailed my OR and informed them I had had a 1% rise, how much that worked out at a month after deductions and when it was back dated to. I received a receipt of message reply - and that's it - never been mentioned since. Inform your OR and leave it at that. If the OR wants it, they will ask.0
