Selling hampers?

Hi,
I live in Ireland and I have noticed there is a gap in the market (in the area I live) for decent priced hampers.
I am not hoping to make lots of money, and know that this can be seasonal but would like to top up my earnings at Xmas etc.
Does anyone else do it? Any advice?

There's only a gap in the market if people WANT hampers, and they're in short supply.
You may have established the short supply, but have you determined that significant numbers actually want them? If so, how?0 -

I have been keeping my eye on craft fairs, Facebook etc locally and hampers do seem to be selling. For big prices and the quality of the goods doesn't seem very good. Very generic brands and not a lot of imagination.
This Xmas I am going to make them for immediate family and see if it is worth it cost wise. I am also going to go on a business start up course and idea generation workshop that are being run by my local Enterprise board for free.
I figure nothing ventured, nothing gained!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

For me the idea of a hamper is getting a selection of goods nicely presented and wrapped but at a good price. Some companies can make hampers look really good value, with nice goods, wrapped and presented well but others especially those on EBay stick fairly cheap items together worth something like £10, wrap it in a cheap cellophane wrapper and charge £30, it looks cheap but really they are charging a fortune for it just because it says hamper!
OP if you think theres a gap in that market, or a need for it go for it. I would suggest getting good quality goods and make it look all nice and in a nice presentation box/wrapper/basket. Times are hard so people aren't so naive on what items cost so don't price them too expensive or your loose out.:money::rotfl::T0 -

Thanks Sarah,
I wouldn't be trying to price too high. You're right about times being hard. It just annoys me to see cheap stuff packaged up and people buying them! Like what you said, I would like to present them really well.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
