Double Default?

Hi,

My query is this, I have a BOS account which I have been paying off through a monthly payment organised by myself for the last 18 months. They sold the debt to IDEM about four months ago and I continued to make the payments.

This month I have been unable to make a payment to them due to personal circumstances. I emailed them to tell them this and explained what the personal circumstances where.

They haven't bothered coming back to me. I stated in the letter that payments would resume as normal next month.

My concern is that BOS defaulted the account in 2010 as IDEM are now looking after it - will they now default me as well?

  • No, they can't. Actually they can but they are not allowed to and you should be able to get it removed if they try. I suspect they won't bother for the sake of one month.
