    On a cheerier note......!!!!
I received my first item off FC today.
    A fax machine.
I've given quite a lot of stuff away previously, but never asked for/received anything before.

I sent a reply/request yesterday. Lovely man rang me this morning, said I could have it, and then delivered it to me - he only lives up the road. I was so pleased with his generousity, I felt I had to give him something in return so gave him a 'spare' planted hanging basket I had. He didn't want or expect anything in return but he and I were both pleased. Received a really nice email from him this afternoon thanking me for the basket.
    Isn't that nice:)
:grouphug: A smile, a 'please' and a 'thank you' cost nothing

how sad keeping a tally, and what is so special about your contributions to this thread?

Freecycle bit: just picked up a half filled carrier bag of glass pebbles/beads. reply to request gave address and 'first one here gets them'.
feel a bit sorry for anyone who arrived after me but there you go, that was the risk.

However, just got an email to say I've been lucky enough to get an offered - more plants that would have ended up on the compost heap !!! Happy bunny today !!Think I'll go and sort out this piece of silicone sh** out now!Pam

most of my offers have been electrical which they can't sell, but I did take 12 bin bags of clothes to a local charity back in March

Similar here - gave away a microwave on freecycle (worked perfectly - just upgraded for one with a grill), but charity shops etc wouldn't accept it.

Off to pick up me plants now I've got me buttons working. See you later gang :D

Desperately wanted; flea treatment for house and 8 week old kitten
Please, if you can help me i would really appreciate it... We have just
been given a lovely kitten who is 8 weeks old and she came with
fleas!! Treatments cost a arm and a leg, which i simply cannot afford
but have to do something especially as we have a 4 month old baby.
Injections and worming are due soon and i scraped money together for
that but this was a horrible little shock and now i'm really stressing
as i do not want an infestation (as you ca imagine) I had already
brought a flea collar for a 12 week old before i got the kitten but the
vet has said i cannot use this and i'm really desperate for some help.
PLEASE if you have any of the carpet/sofa stuff and/or kitten
collar/drops i would really appreciate it. I live in littlemore, do not
drive but am able to bus locally so please help me if you can. I'm
itching now just because i know but haven't been bitten yet....fingers
    crossed...

Hi everyone from Mackem Land (Sunderland to the uninitiated!). I am a fairly new user of freecycle (due to a pending house move and am having to downsize), and have recently been introduced to this forum which I have read from beginning to end.
I have to say that I have been lucky for the most part with the responses I have received to my offers - I don't think anyone has been downright rude. I have had a couple of people respond, but then fail to follow up with contact, but I have then either had others to contact or I have re-offered items.
I have also had several nice emails back from people thanking me for the items etc. One lady kindly sent me a photo of a completed 3-D jigsaw puzzle that was in amongst a job lot of games etc. We had never done the puzzle!
I have only asked for 1 item (for a small amount of roofing felt to repair a hole in a roof), but unfortunately I didn't get any response. I would be embarrassed to ask for major items, but for small insignificant things I would be prepared to do so.
    Keep on freecycling!
