Agency as 'last employer reference'?

If I have been working for an agency most recently am I able to put them down as my last employer for a reference?

It's generally good manners to ask anyone if you intend to put them down as a reference. But agency references are often very basic, which is fine if that is all you need, but some employers require more, so if you have a decent stint with a particular client, you might also ask them for a reference as they could comment on work matters.0

Yes you can, have worked for agencies as a contractor for years, it is not a problem. You can always ask the clientco to give you one and if so all the more better0
