New doors

Hello,
I am looking to get some pre-finished doors (about 8) to replace our existing ones. The existing ones are solid wood and are in a good shape but unfinished and old [long story as to why I am doing this but let's just say I am doing this for my OH].
My questions are -
1. Best place to buy good value pre-finished doors
2. Selling the existing ones - anyone knows a shop/site who can offer a trade-in?

Well I have ordered 11 doors and are having them fitted sometime this month from here

But the majority ......not all . are only
quote .......Supplied untreated for onsite finishing
But the guy who is installing will 'finish'

I doubt very much you'll find anybody willing to trade in on your old doors. There is little interest in 2nd hand doors as with use of the internet, it's very easy to source new doors at good prices. Best you can do is try to flog them on Ebay or Gumtree.
If they are period doors however, you might find a reclamation place willing to buy them from you, but you'd likely be offered peanuts for them. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Thanks wallbash - still at work so will have to look at the site in detail later today, but prices on front page look good in comparison with some others that I saw.
Cattie: Hope I can sell these myself, for now it'll have to go on to the list of things that I need to sell on Gumtree.0 -
Your location ....London ! But the trip to the show rooms would be worth it if you meant North London.
I have gone with the 'special ' offer and am delighted its now £60 a door instead of the £80 when I first viewed them in September.
Have been quoted £40 a door to fit .
But still with buying the door furniture etc still looking at nearly £18000 -
Thanks - I am in North-east so 30+ mins drive. I actually brought door furniture - good Yale ones incl. door handles and hinges for £50 - 9 sets on eBay, so hopefully £1000 for all doors fitted0

Hi Wallbash,
Previously in reply to query you mentioned about a door fitting quote of £40 per door.
If you have already done your work, would you recommend the guy who did your job?
The lowest quote I have had is for £50 so was wondering if you are able to share the carpenter's details who has given you that quote - with 10 doors to do - it is a £100 saving0 -
