Temporary work and job seekers allowance

I wonder if someone can advise me please. If you are on Job seekers and get a temporary position for two weeks, what happens if the job starts in the middle of a week, and how does this affect your job seekers payment and your national insurance contribution for that week and any future things it may affect.

Assuming it's a job in which you are working more than 16 hours per week then you sign off the day you start work. You will be paid up to the previous day by the DWP and you will get your NI credits for that week. When you finish work in two weeks you can sign on again and your entitlement to JSA will continue.

Thank you Happy MJ, so the week that you sign off with the JSA - even for example if it was a Monday and you started your temp post on Tuesday the JSA would cover the National Insurance for that week?

I was concerned about other things as well as I had seen this post which said that beware doing temporary work for short periods of time as it could affect your contributions and future pensions.
