travel ticket information please

hi i start my new job on monday and was asking i need to travel by tram from coombe road (just outside croydon) to wimbledon tram/train station, then get the train from wimbledon to chessington north.
what would be the cheapest way to do thi journey.
oyster card
or 7 day travel tickets etc
and how much is the oyster daily cap for both tram and train
i will be leaving at 6am and returning around 5.30pm

Are you engaged with a Work Programme provider?
If so and you aren't opposed to them claiming an outcome payment and offering you their near-valueless in-work support, get them to pay for your travel expenses for the first month of your job.
I hear they do that.

Go there, and look up your times, tickets and options. It will probably be cheaper to ask for a weekly/monthly ticket to start with.
