Can anyone tell me how quick/slow santander are when you apply for a mortgage with them.
We are selling a property and the buyer has had to re apply for his mortgage and has gone with santander. I believe the application went in about 10 days or so ago.

I applied to Santander first week of September and they've been brilliant. At the time they admittedly had a huge lack of telephone appoinment slots for the mortgage interview available. I think the wait for one was about 10 days. However I managed to grab a slot for an interview 'in branch' just a couple of days later, at a branch out of town, and it's been smooth saling since then. Valuers were similarly out within about two weeks.
This was in stark contrast to the previous six weeks I spent being messed about by Skipton who cancelled my valuation unannounced after mistakenly confusing the flat I'm buying with a house listed under the 1984 Defective Housing Act. I paid for a structural engineers report, which came back excellent, and even had statment from a qualified engineer confirming that Skipton's valuers had cocked up yet they still refused to budge.
Not a hitch so far with Santander plus they gave me a free valuation and £250 cashback. Would recommend.0 -
We put in a full application Monday last week and the valuer went out today.0
