Joint mortgage

Hi

I am new to this forum but I really need some advice.

I have a large amount of unpaid credit card debts which I am currently paying off at small amounts each month.

I am at home looking after our children so I do not work at the moment.

My problem is we are moving house soon. My husband has the mortgage in his name only at the moment (his credit score is perfect, he earns a lot, we have a large deposit).

Now I have found out that he wants me to go on the new mortgage making it a joint one (we are staying with the same bank as it is with now) and I have an appointment this week to do the application form because my husband is at work.

I don't know what to do. Surely my credit file is going to stop us getting this mortgage? I had no idea he wanted me on it. I don't earn anything so I won't be repaying it but will they still check my credit file?
