Mileage claims for temp workers

Hiya

I've just been working from July to date for an NHS organisation. The job was described as having a head office and also involving work at a hospital site elsewhere. No worries I thought.

If I dis-count the miles travelled to and from the head office and just put in the miles to the head office to the more distant office (hospital) it results in about £600 of mileage.

However I've been told I can only claim for journeys not to or from either base (one is 8 miles away whilst the other is 15 miles away) only from one of those bases to any other totally different base. That reduces the claimable journeys down from 62, to just 2!

Bummer. This is all apparently because it was described as a 'two site' job role and therefore I'm told I can't claim for any of the miles clocked up going back and forth from head office / the hospital.

Shame that the ramifications of this dual role weren't spelt out a bit more clearly at the time the job role was offered as I've not stopped driving from one place to another, racking up a grand total of 957 miles just since July!

:(

Did you only just put your expense claim in then since July?

It doesn't have to be, just that your post didn't seem to be asking for a response ...
