Dealing with Hitachi Capital

So I am in the process of saving for my Bankruptcy, I only have a month or so to go. On the advice of stepchange I have stopped paying all my creditors in order to save for the fee. I asked for some time from NRAM and HSBC who once I explained I had been dealing with stepchange have so far been pretty good. Hitachi (provided the credit for dfs sofas) though are appearing to be more aggressive. Has anyone had dealings bth them and got any advice? I've read pretty awful things about them...

  • If you are going BR, you are wasting your time communicating with creditors.

If any of them become aware you are going BR, they will go at you hammer and tongs before you petition to try and get some payment.

Also, the OR will want to see you have not been favouring one creditor over another - the easiest way to do that is pay them all nothing.

Just ignore Hitachi, despite the fact they will make all manner of threats. Don't answer the phone to them and ignore their letters. If they send a 'collection agent' to your door, just refuse to discuss the matter and shut the door (that's what I did with one of my creditors). What's the worst they can do, petition for your bankruptcy?!
