I apologise, unreservedly. I read the post about detergents incorrectly and took it to mean detergents added to the tank to speed up the process of degradation.0 -

GlynD In Whitehead we can be a bit obtuse.
By the way another common problem with Septic tanks is locating them in ground that can become waterlogged for part of the year. People dig their test hole some dry day in early summer and measure the time it takes for water to peculate out, come November Hole fills with water when dug instead of emptying.
