When we start out on the Debt-Free Wannabe trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the Gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free...

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending. :money:

Morning :D up with the larks again (read dgd!) hurrah half way through the working week :j

  • Thanks for kicking us off DNMS!!

Not so much on the list today, mostly will be taken up with driving over to Wales to see the Grandparents! So, here goes:

    :) Check online banking

:) Buy another set of Premium Bonds with left-over holiday money

:) Do Nectar Adpoints on OH's account... Over £30 now!!

:) Check e-mails, file paperwork and generally update admin

:) Booked MOT for £29 - the cheapest I could find!! Everything crossed it passes now!

:) Pop over to Wales to see G-Parents. Have plated up a couple of dinners for them and made myself a roll for in the car. Got a box of choccies from Lidl for half the price of calling in a garage on the way!

:) Hopefully do a little shop in Home Bargains for toiletries and other essentials as it's LOADS cheaper at home than here!

:) Still need to read gas and electric meters and submit reading ready for billing!

:) On that note, heating staying off!!

:) Cycle to allotment and pick salad to have with dinner

:) Couscous, grilled halloumi and salad for dinner tonight - will make enough for both our lunch tomorrow too

:) Early night! Back to a long set of shifts at work and a tedious training day tomorrow! Yawn!

Hope everyone has a fantastic day!! Lots of love xxx

  • Good morning everyone well Wednesday is here and it has to be a productive one! I sold an item on ebay last night and they came to collect and gave me the payment in cash, I am in 2 minds to either put towards my slow cooker which I am going to go get today or put away? I am rather on the skint side of things until pay day and the slow cooker is going to be a long term investment cutting my gas bills!!

I am wondering what other things I can cut to lower my electricity? More research!!!!

    Ok so here's the list

    - meals from stores
    - list on ebay
    - purchase slow cooker
    - research electricity
A new year, new month, new focus and new hope - must stay on the right path for my dreams to come true!

It's not all about central heating and spot lights - cherish wrapping up warm and using candles! It's the small things in life!!
