How deep does receiver go into bank accounts?

I have some PayPal credits on my bank account over last 3 years from personal items sold on eBay. Do I have to account for them all individually ? Also is PayPal and eBay accounts closed?

Comments

  • not usually closed BUT all depends on the ammounts of cash we're talking about

the receivers/examiners usually go back a couple of years BUT if they need to will go back as far as they want to

My case over 6yrs ago was a simple one no assets etc yet they wanted to go back 5 years

  • My examiner seemed to glaze over when I mentioned PayPal - they were just interested in money going in and out of my bank account - I doubt you'll have to account for the odd PayPal credit.

It's down to PayPal whether they close/freeze your PayPal account - they did mine.

One thing - make sure you withdraw all PayPal funds to your bank account before BR. If PayPal freeze or close your account, you might not see the funds for months as happened to me. I was kicking myself for not withdrawing before BR.

My Paypal/Ebay accounts weren't closed.....it actually never crossed my mind that they might be.

I wasn't asked to account for any specific income at all by my OR, and there would've been multiple Paypal credits.

My Paypal account was also left open, the OR had no interest in it at all.

I sold a number of items on ebay in my bid to raise the BR fees so quite a lot of Paypal activity on my account but the OR never mentioned it. So far - no sign of ebay or paypal account being closed but I don't want to jinx that!
  • They weren't interested in my PayPal - and they weren't interested in things I'd sold or freegled (although all were very inconsequential amounts).
