Disposable income?

I think the best way forward is to take 3 months and record absolutely everything you spend. Each time I sit down and do a budget planner, I end up leaving out many things, that is most commonly the things that tend to be a once in a while type purchase (ie. new glasses, school trip, a significant birthday present, an unexpected wedding invitation, things that need replacing in the house.
Those are all the things which mean that I have almost less disposable income (ie. that I can spend on treats or put away in savings) each end of the month than I'd imagined at the start of it.0
