Hi
My son purchased a ipod 4th generation from argos on 31.08.13. A few days later my teenage daughter used her birthday money to purchase one as well although a different colour. Hers has gone faulty as will no longer charge. (charger not faulty as will charge my sons fine) The only thing is she didn't take extra cover out and she can not find the receipt. Where does she stand on getting it repaired as it's only about 9 weeks old.

Things will get better day by day.

She should be able to get a repair, replacement or refund, up to the retailer, as it's less than 6 months since purchase.
However, no proof of purchase could make things tricky. Do you have any evidence of her getting it? Bank statement? Credit card statement?0 -
She has to be able to provide proof of purchase, how did she pay?
Are you sure she hasn't damaged the power port at all? It is very common for them to be physically damaged which wouldn't be covered by the warranty at all with or without proof of purchase.0 -
Take it to an Apple store. You don't need proof of purchase.Hope over Fear. #VoteYes0

You usually just need the serial number from the ipod to see if you are in warranty. You can check here:

Apple I have found usually offer a good back up service for repairs under their guarantee. If you have an Apple shop near you they are usually really helpful too.0 -
An iPod each?? In my day my brother and I had to share our walkman (with tapes!) each taking an earphone. It made choosing songs and, indeed, mobility, quite difficult."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Don't forget the op says her son and daughter each bought their own iPods not that they were given as gifts
