Devere Lose Court Case

This from CAG:-

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?388029-What-do-I-do-now...-Court-Claim-form-received

Hi, I am new to this forum but I have previously read threads about Devere Parking. The Managing agents at my resident car park have authorised Devere Parking to issue PCNs to anyone who fails to display a resident permit on their dashboard. I had forgotten to do so one time back in January and found a PCN from them on my windscreen. I did call them a mistake probably in hindsight where they told me they would let me pay a reduced rate of £30 - I told them I didn't have it and they then said maybe I should ask a member of my family to help with it, I told them no I couldn't do that either. Anyway, since then I have received correspondence from them where the fee went up to £100 and to pay within 14 days which I Ignored. Then a 7 day/intent to court proceedings which was £100 again which I ignored. Today, I have received a court claim form from them which is claiming £150 + £25 court fees. How should I respond to this?

Update - Case eventually went to court a couple of weeks ago - after much deliberation from the judge with Devere parking that that they had no paperwork to prove that I had a contract with them and I already had a contract with the landlord to park there for free with my tenancy - Case was dismissed.
Thanks very much for all your advice.

That's nice , wonder who the judge was and which court it was in?

Don't Devere hover around the Bournemouth area and haven't they had considerable success at the local court there? If so, an even more significant win.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I have asked the OP if they would give us the details of the location and judge.

A great win indeed. Devere have instigated 200+ court proceedings pa for the last two years. What we don't know is how many 'cases' have actually got to court.

I suspect a fair percentage cave in before court, due to Devere's well proven tactics.

Successes they may have had will have been against people who were not properly prepared.

It would be good if the OP could give us a physical description of who represented Devere and their name.

Did the OP have to prove their identity to the Court at any stage with photo ID/Passport ?

Looking through the original thread, it seems the case was held in Bournemouth CC.
