How busy are we?

Options
Just been looking through the forum and, in the last week, there have been over 180 active threads.

That is 180 people who we have tried to help in the last 7 days. That's some workload for a handful of unpaid volunteers to handle.

The Parking companies have been very busy as well - particularly Parking Eye.

So may I ask new thread starters to help us manage this workload by

(a) Reading a few current threads to see if any answers already posted can help you as a starter. If you start your thread after getting a bit of the feel of things and some of the abbreviations it really helps us if you hit the ground running.

(b) Give us something to work with such as where the contravention occurred (England/Wales or Scotland, for example), was there a windscreen ticket, have you had a NtK (Notice to Keeper - first abbreviation). You help us - we help you. Deal?

(c) Be prepared to do a bit of work yourself. We try to avoid template appeals as it is better for you to use the appeal points we give you but couch them in your own words, or at least some of them.

(d) Another deal point - when the matter is resolved, win or lose, if we have helped or tried to help you, come back and report on the result. It will help us help the next person.

Thanks.

I agree, and have posted similar previously. It does get frustrating sometimes when you have to ask multiple times for answers, and still people wonder why they get template answers from some. I have something in mind for this though, will have to sit down and work at it
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Great post GD, but I rather suspect that even if a newbie reads it, the majority will plough on regardless.

'I read to ignore the ticket on this forum, now look what's happening to me ....'
'Help, I've had a scary letter from DR+.....'
    'What's a PPC. Who's POPULAR .....'
'I don't know how to start a new thread ......'
    'What do I write......'
'I posted this 10 minutes ago and no one has bothered to help me ....'
'Cant someone just do it for me, I haven't got the time.....'

I do hope your plea will work.

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Reckon I will bookmark it and send the newbie examples to the thread !!!
  • The cynic in me would ask how many of these posts are smoke and mirror activities from PPCs to tie up such useful advice......

    50-50 perhaps?

    OP...you're wasting your breath.

I have skimmed through your last 50 posts. I can find no helpful advice to any OPs' problems in any of them, just comments, including a few clogging up the POPLA Decisions sticky.

Now, posting comments is a perfectly legitimate activity on a forum and I expect that having commentators as well as advisers on here is acceptable, but I when you have gained the a fraction of the status of, and put in some of the effort of Umkomaas, Bargepole, Stroma, Coupon-Mad, zzzlazydaisy, Slithy Tove, Hovite, Bazster and countless others, when you have made some real contribution to helping others, then I might, just might, give some credence to your "helpful" comments.
  • I just want to say I appreciate ALL of your efforts, guys (and gals!).

I did start a new thread like a newbie would, knowing I'd probably have a link to follow - (Thanks Umkomaas! :-) ) - however this was to make sure the information is current. I'm now following the fightback thread, and I'll let you guys know of my progress.

You've missed off the one that REALLY riles me :

"I've checked out the all the threads but my situation appears unique" or words to that effect - when was the last time a really original case came in !!!!!!!!!!!!!

    How sanctimonious....and yet how typical.
