Let down by mortgage advisor

I'm posting this on here on behalf of a friend.
Basically she has put a bid in for a house this weekend under the impression that we financial advisor was going to provide a mortgage in principle (or at very least a rejection) by this morning. He has not been forthcoming with either. She has now been given a deadline of tomorrow morning at 11am to provide the mortgage in principle to the estate agents otherwise the offer will not be submitted to the builder (the house is one which is being used by the current owner as part exchange).
If the advisor doesn't get back to her is there a way she can get a mortgage in principle in time? I think she said he was going to go through Halifax. Could she just go direct and potentially get something in place before the deadline?
Thanks in advance

Yes. You can make as many applications/Decisions in principle (DIP) as you like... one thing to be wary of those is that every DIP will have an impact on the credit score. Halifax only do a soft footprint though so nothing to worry about too much.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. No idea as i have only done it from the brokers side - your best speaking to halifax, for me to do a DIP with the majority of lenders it takes about 20 minutes. There are 3 outcomes, so if it declines or refers it could take up to 24/48 hours.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
