Asda Special Offers

Sorry, no deals just a general question/observation.

Is it just me who has noticed that Asda very rarely does any BOGOF or 342 offers anymore but instead has long term 2 for £3/4 for £3 offers etc.

Just wondering if anyone had any views on this.

The buy two for £x are not always long term offers they can be short term great offers like I have seen 1 item is £2.19 buy 2 for £2 so sometimes better than buy one get one free. Most of the good offers I see now are where they reduce the price significantly to a round number like £1 or £2 and they can workout better deals that the other supermarkets but sometimes you have to look closely at the label to spot these as unless they are end of isle they are often not prominent in my ASDA. My opinion is the offers and price reductions can be very good sometimes although in some occasions a buy one get one free would be better. Some of the long term offers like one item 59p, 2 for £2 aren't wow but if the other supermarket sells a similar item at 59p each with no offer you are still saving money.

Sainsburys recently were ditching buy one get one frees for 1/2 price instead (not sure if they have kept this up) but they all must be trying to see what sells most.
