Which is great IMO. A proper local mutual!

I think on some of their products they have a post code restriction too!

A really good BS with some cracking regular saving accounts.

good deal if you are local,

but as a saver with the notts for over 20 years its nothing more than a headline gimmick, while they slash all their other savings rates just like the rest of the mutual and non-mutual brigade.

I've currently got the following regular savers with Nottingham:

    5% at £250 per month
    6% at £100 per month
    3.1% at £250 per month
and this new one at 5% at £250.

I love high paying regular saver 'gimmicks' like this!!

Thanks. I downloaded the form, completed and sent it with 1st class Royal Mail together with Cheque £250.

I have nothing to loose apart from postage and completed the form which is a tiny amount of money and work. The worst thing that could happen is that, they return the application form and the Cheque to me.

I will keep you info how it is going guys.

If you manage to get the account opened by post, how confident are you that you will be able to get your money out eventually by post or internet, as opposed to turning up in branch?

Well, good question. In the past I had such account (branch only) from Principality BS but they sent me the cheque when I requested to close it. Even you go to the branch to close the account, you will also get the cheque as they are not going to transfer it to a bank account.

If they asked me to come to branch to get out the money I will send them pre-paid envelope and request to send the cheque. I think they must have such kind of provision in place. Take for instance a person who once live in Nottingham but after the account is opened he move to London permanently. There is no way he is going back to Nottingham just for the interest of less than £100.

But certainly noone could be100% sure, just see what happen. But I believe I could withdraw the money at the end if I send them pre-paid envelope. They agree to open it and they know that I am not living there, so they are already aware that there is not any branch near me so I will not be able to come to one of their branch.

I think the main purpose for branch only because they could chat to the person and try selling him another product.

I clicked on the branch finder, entered post code and the map appears. The only "branches" near me are Harrison Murray estate agencies (the red pins) are they branches? or why are they on the Nottingham website?
