A Sticky Problem

Has anyone any idea of how to get a sticky residue off the back of a new passport?

It's only been used once and when I took a sticker off the back that had been put on at the airport it left a sticky mess behind.

I am wary of anything that would either remove the colour or damage the chip in the passport.

Thanks for any suggestions.

  • A miniscule squirt of WD40 will move most sticky label residue without doing any damage :)

if you dont have any WD40, put a bit of mayo on to the residue, leave it for 20 mins and it should all wipe off
  • Thanks I'll give them a try tomorrow.

A tiny smidgeon of white spirit, (turps) on a clean cloth, be prepared to rub off quickly when residue is lifted.
