Engagement ring deals/offers/help

Just wondering if anyone could offer any advice re any deals they've seen re engagement rings or the best type of place to get as much for our money as possible - even second hand rings.
I am the receiver of the engagement ring but just don't want my partner splashing out £££££££ on a ring but would love something nice for a reasonable price.
I know high street jewellers have quite a mark up on rings.... so was going to avoid these?

You'll probably find an independent jeweller in your town who sells second hand jewellery and I bet you'll find a lovely ring there. Much better value for money than buying from a modern website or high street jeweller.
You could also go along to your local auction house. They sometimes have rings in the general sales and sometimes in a pure jewellery sale.
What about your relatives. Do they have any rings handed down through the family they'd be happy to give you?~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Any more posts you want to make on something you obviously know very little about?"
Is an actual reaction to my posts, so please don't rely on anything I say.

If you search on this board for engagment ring, you will find lots of advice as this has been asked many times before.
I went to Birmingham jewellery quarter and got mine made for about 60% of the valuation price. Plus I got exactly the ring I wanted.0 -
I've just proposed with a temporary ring and took my then fiance to buy a diamond separately and then got a ring designed and made all in Hatton garden, it's a really enjoyable process and you can spend whatever you want and get much better value than the high street. the two companies I used (both recommended by a friend) were
https://www.diamco.co.uk for the stone and
http://hydeparkdesign.com/ for the ring.
Both business are small, family run and in the same building.0
