    Hi

I am in a similar position. Currently 11 weeks pregnant and getting married in 6 weeks time. There are around 22 people coming to our wedding. The ceremony is taking place at 12 noon and we are all heading to the local pub for a drink afterwards then dissapearing until the evening when we will meet up again at a restaurant and have an evening meal.
We are getting round the costs by saying we arent asking for wedding presents but instead could everyone pay for their own meal and drinks etc.

My dress is a second hand designer maternity dress from ebay - hit and miss but you can get some bargains.

Rings i cant help you with i'm afraid as the other half has sorted those and won't tell me how much they cost!

Good luck with the planning and congratulations on the wedding and baby! :D

Congratulations to you as well on your baby and wedding - i hope all goes well for you too - we are just testing the waters at the moment - trying to work out if we can get it all together without getting too stressed or going wayyyyyy over board with money :)
  • Congratulations, what an exciting year ahead for you both!

There are lot of lovely pubs that will section off an area for you or may have a private room where you can all eat around the one table. Don't know how near this is for you but the Cricketers Arms in Rickling Green, nr Saffron Walden is lovely and the manager is so accommodating, they said to us they could do three course sit down for £30 a head but I am sure post Xmas they could do it for cheaper. Have a search for local pub venues near you and give them a call, many of them will be happy to have that sort of business in Jan when lots of people are not drinking!

Could you come in to London one day and get rings in Hatton Garden? If you were going for plain bands you could easy get both for a really good price I reckon... we went round lots of the shops there last week and found you could totally haggle on price and the owners were very receptive. We found a jewellers called Justines to be really competitive. Similarly if you took your gold rings in they could advise what the costs would be to melt them down and create new ones as many of the jewellers there have workshops on site.
There are a few shops that sell second hand rings too so i think you could get a bargain.
    Good luck

For dresses, I would look out for sample sales as mentioned above. These are sales of dresses that the shop has kept in the store for people to try on; you buy it and take it away on the day. They usually have a wide range of sizes available.

Wedding dresses are often fairly flexible in terms of sizing too, especially if they have a corset back. For example, my dress is a 12, but I'm a 10 and it would easily fit a 14 too. So don't just limit yourself to looking for an 18!

Ebay is a good place to look; you might need to spend a tiny bit on cleaning/alteration costs but may well still work out cheaper than buying something that is brand new.

On the high street, Monsoon, Coast, Debenhams and BHS all have lovely bridal ranges.

    buy wedding dress from SPAMbridal.com

No contact address on the website.

Address on domain registration hidden by proxy.

Very likely that anyone ordering would either get no dress or some cheap Chinese tat.
