Skiing Hamper ideas?

I would like to do my 12 year old niece a Skiing hamper.
She is going on boxing day and then again in Feb with her school.
I've never been skiing so not really sure what to include.
So far my thoughts are:
Thermals
Sun lotion for face
Lipbalm
A book for the evenings
fluffy socks (do you need special ski socks?)
Any other ideas would be appreciated - I've looked on the forum but I can't see anything for skiing!
Thanks in advance :-)

Regarding socks - you can buy 'ski socks' but any warm, thick socks would do - they should be quite long so they come up higher than the ski boots do otherwise I used to find the top of the boots can rub. I used to wear thermal leggings when skiing too.
I got some long sleeved thermal vests in Primark years ago - not sure if they still do them but they were very reasonable compared to some places. TK Maxx also sell ski wear, I have had gloves from there.
Maybe some nice face moisturiser in case her skin gets dry with the cold.
Relaxing shower gel to use when she comes off the slopes?0 -

Aldi & Lidl sell ski & snowboard wear at least a couple of times a year- might be worth checking there too.0 -
A skiing hamper sounds like such a lovely idea!
a couple more ideas:- fluffy socks (as you mentioned) or slippers to wear inside are a great idea, especially if shes staying in a chalet as you tend not to be able to wear shoes/boots inside
- as already mentioned, handwarmers of some type (reusable or disposable) will likely be hugely appreciated if its a very cold week!
- we take a couple of mini bars of chocolate (mars bars, milkways, smarties etc.) each day that fit easily in a jacket pocket as snack/extra energy whilst waiting for ski lifts
- maybe a cheap disposable camera so she can take photos on lifts with no worry of dropping a digital camera/phone in to the powder below!

I would pack it in a plastic sledge (I know that's not actually skiing but it's close enough to be exciting).:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

These are all really great ideas - thank you all so much for your help :-)0

The essentials on my school trips were
hat
scarf
gloves
skipass holder
lip salve and sun cream
goggles

Most ski-jackets nowadays have a ski-pass pocket, as the majority of resorts are scan-gates (like Oyster cards) and you just need to walk past for the gate to open rather than have a lanyard/holder for your pass.
Try and find out if there are any coffee or hot-chocolate bars in the resort, and print off their location for apres-ski.
Also, good sunglasses are a must, as well as goggles for wearing whilst skiing. TK Maxx & outlet centres are a good place to look.
A small back-pack is a good idea - somewhere to put your hat/sacrf when too warm, to carry a camera & phone and a book for impromptu stops.
Also, how about an i-Tunes gift card so the latest/chosen tunes are on an iPod for listening to whilst sunning on a terrace or sitting on a coach to & from the airport?0
