I had this with the Pink Panther DVD set a few months ago - they did give me a tenner voucher mind after - may do the same - write a friendly but disgruntled complaint

OK received a reply today from the person I emailed at Play.com (I won't publish their email address or name to be fair to them)

Basically the email can be summarised to they are very sorry my experience fell short of what I had expected, the IT department are working out who ordered what and will be sending out emails offering the product at the new price.
No voucher but at least a proper apology
