Christmas Presents for 4 and 7 year old girls who are sisters

Can anyone tell me what toys would be suitable for a 4 year old and a 7 year old, both girls and they are sisters, but who apparently are more advanced for their age? I have been tasked with attempting to find their Christmas presents from their elderly neighbour this year again. The last two years I have purchased toys from Argos when they had 2 toys for £15 as this seems to be the pensioners budget.
Christmas 2011 one girl got a handbag with various things in it including a pretend hairdryer which made a noise while the other got a toy hi-fi which played nursery rhymes. Then in Christmas 2012 one got a guitar while the other got an organ. This year I would prefer if whatever they get isn't musical for a change. I thought perhaps toys which they can both play with would be an idea but I do not know.

Personally, I would go down the craft/jewellery making route.
My dd is 5, but is an old 5 if that makes sense to you! She doesn't really play with toys, she has requested of Santa a sewing machine and lots of crafty bits.
There is a cupcake sewing st in the argos 2for £15 which has great reviews! Thee are quite a lot of craft things in this deal too.
You could even get a couple of boxes and fill with card, paper, glue, glitter, stickers, embellishments (such as googly eyes, feathers etc) and they have their own craft boxes
My dd has just spent her pocket money on a monster high bangle making set. It's from morrisons for £6 (£10in argos I believe ) which she has had fun doing and because it's not bracelets on string or elastic, the beads can be slided off and used again and again.
She also likes make up and nail sets, but I would check with the parents if they allow their girls to wear this first before buying
Hope this gives you some ideasMummy to ds 29/12/06 dd 10/2/08 ds 25/5/11:Amy angel born too soon 18/11/12, always with me Emmie Faith:A15 projects in 2015 10/15completed0 -
I second the crafty route. All kids love making things and getting covered in glitter!
This could also be a good idea for either girls or even both - theyre right on trend at the moment and my girls (6&9) love them :

I've bought a few toys for my own children from Asda's 2 for £10 range and also their 2 for £20 range this year.

Also my own 2 girls had their eyes on these from the Argos 2 for £15 range who are a similar age to the 2 girls you're shopping for. My mum, DH's mum and his 2 sisters have bought them these after asking us what they wanted. I don't like other people spending too much money on the kids as I know times are difficult, so I gave them this list and they were more than happy. Although I am asked every year by the same aunts to give them something to buy the kids, and each year they always spend and buy more than what I have asked them to get them lol

Crafty is good! I have a 5 year old who loves making things. Have a look at Melissa and Doug items on amazon (they also stock some of these in TK Maxx)

Or their sticker pads - especially the reusable ones are lovely

Ocado also stock these if you happen to shop with them - they were on 3 for 2 last week and I got some but that offer has just ended.0 -
Another vote for craft things. 7yrs can be a bit of a difficult age to buy for as sometimes they have grown out of the usual girly toys. My daughter is 8 and for the last year or so she has not really wanted any toys as such. So we have bought her technology type things for main present and craft kits for smaller presents. Amazon is a great place to buy from if you look regularly you will spot bargains - you can occasionally get some nice craft kits for £4 ish such as painting ceramics or make your own jewellery. (although now you have to spend £10 in your basket to get free delivery on most things which is a real pain)
Another great present is the Klutz craft fashion/art books, Good prices on Klutz in amazon at the moment. My daughter has a few of these and gets good use out of them.0 -
two cuddly puppies and a tube of maltesers each.0

I bought craft tubs for two girls of a similar age before, think they were about £4 in Asda. One was pom poms and things to make, and I think the other might have been paints or clay. I liked them as each had their own little tub but something similar to open.
Otherwise, how about onesies? I know they aren't today but I got two for my cousins girls last year and they loved them.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

My just turned 7 - wants Club Penguin membership. She would not mind to have some cuddly puffles or penguins from that game but it's not essential. When she was 4 - it was Thomas and friends, somewhere in between it was variations of Mario Wii games... Does it help? Do you have any ideas what the those girls like to do in their free time? It might help...
Buy the way, it's possible to find used Wii games rather chip and go with one game and some toys from this games. That's what I usually do for my kids. They only want 1 thing at a time and I don't see the reason to get a lot of presents if they only want one...0
