Hello Everybody. seeking advice please.

Hello Everybody, this is my first post on this forum, although I've been reading it avidly for a couple of months and am truly inspired by the people on here, so much so that we are starting our own DMP with StepChange.

Having beaten ourselves into the ground trying to keep up with our debts the time has finally come to take control. We just have to email our documents, proof of income etc., to StepChange to start everything off.

I just have a couple of questions if somebody could advise me please.

I understand we have to cancel the Direct Debits with the creditors we are dealing with through SC and send them a "token payment" until the plan is setup. Is there a template letter to send with this payment please?

Also, do we do this now or wait until we are fprmally accepted by SC?

I'm sorry if the above questions are silly but SC aren't around today and I was hoping to get the letters sorted out this evening.

Many Thanks, I suspect I'll be posting on here a lot more now :-)
