Started DMP, Now need to budget!!!!!!

Hi all :)
As you can see im not new to the mse forums, I have been trying to tackle my debts for years with not much progress.
Everything came to a head the other week when I saw a huge drop in my wages (long story) but the joys of now being self employed.
Because of this I was unable to pay my credit cards and decided I had had enough of my debt ruling my life.
I contacted payplan and they have been great, my DMP is due to start on 12th Nov. Don't get me wrong, I feel awful about having to have done this, feel like a bit of a failure really, but I was at a loss of what to do!!!
All being well, I should be debt free in 3.5 years :)
What I need to do now is a spread sheet with a budget on for birthdays, Christmas, clothes, school uniform etc. my hubby pays household bills etc, I sort out birthdays, clothes and all the extras.
Is there a template for a spread sheet or anything on here that I could use, not very good at making my own lol.
Thanks in advance :)

Hi there are free budgeting templates you can download, this looked promising;)

I did my own. It really isn't that difficult and you can tailor it to your circumstances. Good luck and well done for tackling that debt!

  • My husband and I are coming up to a year on a DMP in January. Trust me, it feels good to see the numbers come down. It is not easy in the beginning, but you get used to it. And the feeling of tackling your debts is the best thing. But, I agree about doing a SOA and seeing how the wise people here may be able to come up with ideas on saving money. Since being on the DMP I have been able to save a whopping £250 a month by cutting things out.
