Xmas budget ideas for 3 boys

I am looking for budget Xmas ideas for three boys (one age 2 and two age 3).

Can anyone make any recommendations?

Thanks

  • I imagine a couple of large cardboard boxes from household appliances to become a boat/car/house would delight them and have them entertained for hours. If you're creatively inclined, you could turn them into these things yourself ahead of gift opening, with a pack of thick colouring pens and a pair of strong scissors.

If you want to buy something as well, how about a budget (Ikea?) train set or some cars and a road rug (Ikea do these too.)

I think most kids of this age also love bubbles, bubble bath and bath toys.

You could have Christmas sorted for between £5 and £30.

Nesting Tupperware boxes (or similar) - line then up & knock them over, bigger than/smaller than, and always lots of useful lidded boxes...
Add a couple of wooden spoons & a couple of cheap pans from the charity shop & there'll be kitchen jazz, batting to the radio...
Bubble mixture is loads of fun & makes wonderful photo opportunities (I eventually learned to Hoover up before uncapping the mixture...)

ball from the poundshop or £2ish asda/tesco ect
books again try poundshop or thebookpeople sometimes have some great value sets
    box of balloons
    puzzles
cars/duplo type lego/animals or dinosaurs are always a big hit at that age

tbh its an easy age to do an a budget as they are over the moon with whatever they get and like other have said are often still just as happy to play with the wrapping/boxes as they are the presents
this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk

at that age you can get away with spending very little.

My youngest is 5 and with her it is still more about quantity of gifts rather than the value.

I have bought her lots of little gifts for £1 or less.....tube of sweets, pack of xmas biscuits, character themed bubble bath, shower gel, tooth brush, face cloth. Felt Tips, crayons, pencils, pencil case, Colouring / Sticker Books, playdough, bubbles, DVD, skipping rope, lip balm, character themed socks, PJ's, chocolate lolly mould kit.

Places like £ land and Home Bargains are the places to look!

There are tons of little inexpensive things, although I would caution that balloons are a hazard for toddlers. There's a choking risk if they pop, as the child can inhale a piece of it in and choke on it. (which is why I get so irritated when McDonalds and places like that happily hand out balloons to toddlers all the time) I know it's not a popular thing to say, but having seen it happen, I feel it's important to mention.

  • The Book People do book collections fairly reasonably and you can split them between the boys as they are so close in age.

She asked for budget ideas, I'm sure she many cheap gifts kids will actually like. I assume your post is a joke. I wouldn't dream of giving my 3 year old an empty box.
Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.

No, it wasn't a joke. I offered budget ideas as requested; I'm not sure what your post offered at all.

Most children LOVE empty boxes, because they tend to have amazing imaginations to use them as the basis for highly entertaining and adventurous play.

If your child/ren wouldn't enjoy playing with empty boxes that's fine. I know many who do, and we had one enormous box in the garage that we kept trying to unsuccessfully throw away that our children enjoyed more than a lot of their toys. It was used for many things and provided endless hours of fun. Don't knock it if you haven't seen it!
