Need help - DD payments for 20 years

Hi - am hoping someone can give me some advice. My dad has just told me he has been paying some kind of life insurance or pension for me for 20 years at approx £90 per month. He presumes it was when he helped me out years ago by taking over my mortgage and endowment policy. The company was the Prudential and he or I have never received any correspondence from them regarding this. We have worked out he has paid approx £25,000. There has never been anything from the Prudential about this payment. Would I have a case to get some of the money back? Presumably there should have been at least an annual letter sent? Would be grateful for any advice.

What do the Pru have to say about it, asking them would be a good start. Without speaking them none of us will have any idea what the payment was for, maybe they have been sending correspondence to a different address .0

Yes will contact them first thing tom - presume part of it is my dads fault as he never questioned the amount. The prudential have found me on another policy (frozen pension). Presume they have access to addresses. Just cant believe there has been no correspondence0

That would probably put it in the days of industrial branch policies where there were no annual statements.Would I have a case to get some of the money back?
Depends on the product bought and the terms offered.Presumably there should have been at least an annual letter sent?
not if it was industrial branch. That only happens on ordinary branch business (the type you have today).Would be grateful for any advice.
Your dad needs to ask Prudential for a policy list. If he was paying it and he was the policy owner then it will be in his name. Not yours. You may just be recorded as the beneficiary.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
