debt collector got wrong information

I am being chased for a debt by Daniles Silverman debt collectors on behalf of a cleaning company. The debt was in duspute between me and Highly Polished Cleaning Services.
I ordered an end of tenancy clean for a rental property and the job wasnt completed and what was done was minimal (bathrooms cleaned), in fact the student who was carrying out the work walked off the job early stating that she was ill. Needless to say I had to get another cleaning company, carpet cleaning people and oven cleanersetc.
After complaining to Highly Polished Cleaning she admitted that the job wasn finished, and said that she could send someone else but it would cost me for another clean!!! I told her to forget it and heard nothing for weeks. Out of the blue I received a text asking for £100 to cover the work done. I told her I was happy to pay £50 and let the matter rest.
I didnt hear anything until I was sent an email from Debt Collectors asking for almost £400 to cover the bill and cost incurred.
Point is this Cleaning Company are so thick and un professional, they failed to keep proper records of the property in question, so now they are sending demands to a similar address in the area. I have pointed this out to them several times but still they persist in harassing me and an innocent party with the wrong details of the property .
Please can you advise? How do I stand legally? and I would be happy to go to small claims to resolve this issue because I have photos and receipts for all the work carried out.
Many thanks

I would simply write to the debt collectors and tell them that the debt is invalid because it's demanding payment for services that weren't carried out, advise them that you have offered a partial payment of £50 which is a fair representation of the work done and that you aren't willing to pay a penny more than that.
You can then invite them to take you to court if they feel otherwise and mention that you have photographic evidence showing the work being billed wasn't done and a receipt from another cleaning company that did eventually carry out the work instead, and that you'll be ignoring any future demands above the £50 you've offered as a full settlement.0 -
