Lowest priced sheep's wool insulation?

Anyone got any ideas as to which company offers the cheapest priced sheep's wool insulation? Have decided to use this for the majority of my loft.

Take care with going super cheap as a customer of mine had to have all his internal wall insulation replaced (and thus all the internal plasterboard walls removed, replaced, re plastered and redecorated!) as there were moths in the wool. Luckily his insurance covered it......

This is something that bothers me about wool insulation, what stops moths laying eggs in it? Is it treated in some way?

I read about this problem in another forum. Is it an ongoing or recent issue with the moths and wool? I assumed that all wool would be treated with something like borax?

All of the period property sites I've read specifically recommend using wool as loft insulation. But having an infestation in the insulation is probably the worst thing that can happen.

Does anyone else here have similar stories? Is wool actually a really bad idea?

I don't know if it is a bad idea if it is treated. I considered it but in the end used recycled glass fibre. At the time it was a no brainer as it was 3 quid a roll.

We also have a mouse problem in the attic and I wasn't too keen on provided the little blighters with luxury nest material.
