Too Lazy/Tired to stuff a chicken

Options
I was working all week-end.....my job entails me popping in and out.

Came home Sunday about 11am.....I looked at the chicken and it looked at me, I knew I ought to stuff it, and I knew it expected to be stuffed.

I thought of sausage meat, onion, breadcrumbs etc and
decided.....sod it!

Some of you might remember my rosemary post.......well I've still got loads of it.

---Put a bunch of fresh / frozen or dried (I've got them all) rosemary in the body cavity.

--- Insert a sharp knife into the flesh, twist to create a hole, insert a sliver of garlic into the hole.  Do this as many times as your taste for garlic allows.

Roast in the normal way.

Couldn't believe how delicious it was.......we didn't miss the stuffing.  Even the gravy had absorbed the flavours.

Discovered something new.......all because I was too
lazy tired to stuff a chicken!

Sometimes I just stick a whole lemon inside (with some rosemary if it isn't raining and I go down the garden to get it - I told you I was lazy) :P :P Sometimes if no lemon then I stick a whole (peeled) onion in.

I stick in a lemon (or orange if the children aren't about as they don't like the taste) and onions, just chop em in half, skin an all.

oohh. can't decide what to put up chicken tonight. so many options.
  • If you can get it - woodsmoked garlic is fantastic. 1 up the chicken and 1 sliced across, rubbed across the chicken skin and left sitting on it whilst it roasts. Absolutely gorgeous.

ps anyone know where I can get woodsmoked garlic from. I once got it years ago at Tescos in Watford, but never found it since. See - it must have been nice,I tell everyone about it and it's years since I had it.

    Must go buy a chicken................................
