Company are saying the account will say 'partial settlement' is this normal? Just wanted to check before I go giving them the money...
Having said this I don't think my credit record could be any more damaged than it already is anyway!

According to the Information Commissioner, that is the correct mark for the credit file.
Just make sure that the wording on your letter is clear enough so that they cannot chase you for the balance.0 -
Hi Kirsty,
Yes, this is normal enough, but make sure you keep any correspondence for 6 years in the event of another debt collector pursuing you for the balance at a later date, as some of them really are chancers.If you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.
