Welcome Finance

Does Welcome Finance exist anymore?

I got a car on finance in 2006 but sold the car including the agreement to another person in 2010...

Yes the other week I got a letter from welcome finance saying I owe £3500.

I literally laughed :rotfl: and threw it in the bin.

But in reality... Can they do anything?

Comments

  • How did you sell the agreement to another person?

Or do you mean you sold the car and hoped that the buyer would continue making the payments because he said he would?

I don't think a finance agreement is transferable to another person, why would you want to even do that when you have no way of knowing the other person will keep up with the payments ?, your liability only ends when you have made all the payments, until then you are still liable weather you sold the car or not !!!!

The car was not yours to sell. You will be responsible for any shortfall if payments have not been made.

Whoops! Well that was a silly thing to do.

Having read a couple of your other threads you just seem to want dodge paying back what you have borrowed!

An attitude that stinks in my opinion......just means people that do pay their debts end up picking up your bill

Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
  • yeah i agree, was a stupid and dumb thing to do... VERY STUPID. I will have to pick up the mess
