in Cutting tax
Hi
I hope this is the right place for this.
Earlier today I received a P800 tax calculation. I am always careful and check i'm on the correct tax code. I took a temporary christmas job last year and submitted a P45 a bit late so was on emergency tax, that was no problem as i knew i'd get a refund a few months later, which i did.
I have just received a tax calculation for the tax year 2012 - 13 and i dont understand it. This is what it says
'Dear bobster999
I have reviewed your income tax liability for the year shown above to see whether you have underpaid or overpaid tax for that year.
My calculation is given on the enclosed sheet. The calculation result is given near the for of that page.
The see notes column refers to the numbered notes in the guidance leaflet.
A payable order for this amount has been issued to you separately.
Your personal allowances exceed your taxable income, no tax is due'.
Does the bit in bold mean im getting a refund or do i have to pay that back?
On the calculation sheet it says:
Tax Chargeable = 0.00
Tax overpaid = £320.60
Repayment Due = £320.60
I didnt get a letter like this last time when I got a refund, I just received a bacs payment notification in the post.
Can anyone confirm if its what I have to pay or if its a refund as its really stressing me out as I cant afford to do this.

It is a refund and you will be receiving a cheque, the letters and cheques are processed in different locations so are sent separately.
Whether it is correct or not is another matter
