Does anyone know whether if you opt out of signing up to Newsletters / further contact etc on the comp sites it will give you less of a chance of winning ?

It shouldn't as winners are mostly drawn at random (exceptions being vote comps etc) :)

    hi, it shouldn't do :)

& in the comping guide it explains a bit more..

11 If you opt in or out of their mailing / 3rd party mailings, does it affect your chances?
I ALWAYS indicate a big fat 'no' to both of those, unless it is something that I'd really like to hear more about or a comp you enter by signing up for their newsletter.

It should make no difference to whether you are included in the comp or not, although some smaller companies may break the rules. I have to say I’ve been really lucky with wins & it seems to have made no difference whatsoever to my chances by always opting out where I can. It just means that I end up with less spam & on less junk mail lists.
