Debt disappeared from Noddle report?

Hi all

Hope someone can help me - i have an outstandind debt of £8k since 2007/2008 time

I pay £50pm to a debt collection now which I have been doing for nearly a year and a half.

This months noddle report does not have the debt on there anymore, but when I go onto the debt collections website and log into my account, the debt is still there?

Any advice or suggestions as to why this may be?

Many thanks
DDx

When was the default dated? Defaulted accounts are removed from your report 6 years from the default date.

  • Hi there and firstly thankyou for your advice. It was first logged in 2007 (i took out the loan and then lost my job so defaulted almost straight away). It had shown as defaulted every month since as I couldnt keep up repayments and then started the £50pm a year and a half ago.

Where do I go from here? Do I still pay them back or is it now void?

    Many thanks again,

The debt still exists and is payable. As in they "could" go to court if you stopped paying.

Just won't appear on your credit report any more.

For it to be statute barred you have to have not acknowledged the debt or paid anything towards it for a period of six years, unfortunately when you started paying a year and a half ago you re-set the clock, the debt would only be SB six years from the date of your last payment, sorry :(

  • hi all

Thankyou so much for your advice. My main thing is that I wanted my credit file to improve (I am now a 2/5,not a 1/5) so it is heading in the right direction!

I have also amended my standing order from £50pm to £650pm as I have now paid a few other debts to release my debt payments to be able to focus on this last biggie!

Your advice is much appreciated so thanks again
