Dinner tonight was left over biryani from last night (home made) with some lentil dhal I made to bulk it out, and some flat breads (also home made). Was a bit 'meh' but it was food and it was cheap. Hoping to do a really minimal food shop tomorrow as DH is away most of the week so I can eat cheap veggie stuff.
Popped in to town this eve to get some secret santa gifts. Thought it was late night shopping. I was wrong. Bit annoyed to find the shop I wanted to go in for the present I need for Saturday was shut already. Will have to pop in again tomo. Did get a whole heap of stuff for the DH stocking and other secret santa from £ shop though so think I did quite well.Mortgage Outstanding Nov '16 £142,772.75Mortgage Additional OPs 2017 Target £4522.80/ Actual £865.00GC Feb 0/£2000 -
Not pleased with myself today. My cheap shop was still £25 and would've been more had I not made myself return the beer when it came to too much. In addition to food I actually needed I spent:
£2.50 on a special beer for DH
99p on cheesecakes as a treat
£1.49 on avocados as a treat
£1.99 on face cream
£1.99 on second bag of coffee to keep in case of emergencies (running out is not worth thinking about)
So that's about £9 on stuff I didn't strictly need. One day I will go and only buy things to use that week!Mortgage Outstanding Nov '16 £142,772.75Mortgage Additional OPs 2017 Target £4522.80/ Actual £865.00GC Feb 0/£2000 -
Good news: Got a letter from the tax office saying my tax code had changed to incorporate my uniform washing claim, which must mean they've accepted my claim for last year :j Now need to update the letter to reclaim for previous years too.
Bad news: Dog food ordered from my favourite online bookseller didn't arrive so had to go out and buy some. Small bags are soooo expensive and the massive bags were on offer so bought one of them- meaning another big chunk out of this months budget, but it won't go to waste. especially galling as the offer made it cheaper than the online shop but that one has been dispatched so I can't cancel the order:mad:. Also had to take dog for his vaccinations and buy flea and worm treatment for cat so total spend on animals this month is nearly £200 :eek:Mortgage Outstanding Nov '16 £142,772.75Mortgage Additional OPs 2017 Target £4522.80/ Actual £865.00GC Feb 0/£2000 -
Not been too bad this week, especially considering DH has been away. Have been running with the dog 3 mornings out of 4, have kept busy doing things 3 eves out of 4 and have only spent on one day. Went to S-burys and exchanged some t-shirts I'd bought in order to get a money off petrol voucher but didn't really need. Used the refund on them, plus £12 to buy a crate of wine whilst they had the 25% off any 6 offer on, and included a few bottles of fizz for NYE and moving into the new house that was also on offer for 25% off- so with both discounts price for those was about £5.50 a bottle then I topped up the box with some cheap general drinking stuff. All in all 6 bottles came to about £2 a bottle so did pretty well.Mortgage Outstanding Nov '16 £142,772.75Mortgage Additional OPs 2017 Target £4522.80/ Actual £865.00GC Feb 0/£2000

Got a little off track this month. Grocery spends stand at about £200. Stopped counting when I knew I was over, sadly didn't stop spending! Went to town for my eye test yest. Used a voucher so only paid for the contact lense check. Got some shoes repaired, money I didn't strictly need to spend, and bought a few bits in Wilkos, some necessary, some not so much. Need to check the credit card, shuffle some money from savings and get that all cleared so I can start the new year back on an even keel and spending cash only. Windows at the new house going in next week so that's where the big CC bill comes in.Mortgage Outstanding Nov '16 £142,772.75Mortgage Additional OPs 2017 Target £4522.80/ Actual £865.00GC Feb 0/£2000
