I just did a quick search and a few sites reported back in August that Amazon had announced this, but they were all US sites talking about US Amazon. No idea if that applies here or not.

Compatible games come with a download code that you can use to pay £10 and download the next gen version on release.
You just keep your old disk still, though.

This is better than doing it through Game/amazon as they guarantee 'at least £40 trade in value' but the next gen version will be £60... You can pay the £10 to download the next gen version, and keep the current gen disk for when you play on the older machine.

this is only for SELECT games! and only if purchased with that option, so for example you walk into Game physically pick up the exact version that lets you upgrade, do not pick up / purchase the normal version and expect that to work.

Then there is the trade in credit variations mentioned above. different retailers are doing different things, if i remember it was only one or two that let you download the xbox one version (within X weeks) for £10 (i think the ps4 gave you the credit to use on the market and xbox one did something slightly different).

im not 100% but you transfer the licence from the xbox 360 version to the one version so i think the old gen version will not work (or it might just let you use it as is but NOT at the same time - i just remember reading through about 20 pages to get the exact answer).

i will try find the post that explained it very well as i spent some time on this trying to work it out myself! anyways i just wanted to quickly throw in what i know so you dont bank on it for every game / using two copies.
