Mortgage confusion please help!

I am an ex bankrupt of 7 months. I live in rental accommodation now with my partner who has never had a mortgage. We would like to one day buy a home. However this is the problem.

I am the main breadwinner and with her earnings alone we would not be able to get a mortgage. Is there a way of her getting a mortgage without me being declared as being on the mortgage in any way, but being able to pay the majority of it?

I hope that makes sense.......

ask the or about your deposit
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Let time pass and save a large deposit in the meantime.

If your partner takes out a mortgage in her own name, the lender will want to be sure she can afford the monthly payments herself. The lender won't take your income into account unless you're also named on the mortgage.

But being ex bankrupt doesn't mean you'll never get a mortgage. If you're talking about being able to buy "one day" I guess you don't have a deposit now - and lending criteria can change over the time it takes you to save one up.
