Cry for me please :(

Options
I ordered my xbox one through Blockbusters, they as you will be aware went into administration and all suppliers pulled preorders.

So, now I have to preorder from elsewhere and go right to the back of the queue....that sucks!

HI

PS, I know its nothing to the jobs involved but still it sucks!

All I'm going to say is that you should have went to a reputable retailer or atleast a specialist retailer - Blockbuster would've been at the very back of the queue of places I'd go. But I disagree with CFC, I'd suggest that if you're quick you'll find a place where you'll get it before Christmas, but there will be a staged release with a slim chance of free stock this side of new year. I wouldn't be willing to run that risk if I WANTED one.

  • If you are willing to queue from around 3pm on release day, you should be able to pick up a console. (I'd imagine each vendor will have a couple that they can sell to those who didn't preorder)

The other option is go for the ps4 which plays games at 1080p native, rather than 720p upscaled...

    cough... 900p...

Anyway, I don't think there will be huge stock problems try and get an order in elsewhere, good luck.

If you're hoping for a day one version, you'll be lucky... More likely to gave before Xmas, but no guarantee. (I imagine they'll sell out over Xmas)

I was talking about the PS4 versions... My point is your blanket statement is incorrect, the is 1080p games on both consoles and yes I would agree some of the early multi platfrom games do appear to favour the PS4... while running on dev kits.

Yes the PS4 is marginally more powerful I am not going to argue otherwise but the xbox does have some great exclusives and kinect really is a good piece of kit so if somebody wants one leave them to it.

Anyway if people are going to split hairs on these things just spend £150 more on a gaming PC and blow them both out of the water.

Well you have my sympathy, especially if you wanted the Day One version. However I imagine the 'standard' console will be reasonably available, maybe this upscaled 720p will lead to some cancelling their pre-orders?

Just read that Blockbusters are working with Microsoft to reserve pre-orders, may be worth a shot?

    Full info here

    Or the form is here
  • that really sucks! my sympathies, though all might not be lost with Hodge4ever's links!

ironically i had actually decided to go with this day one release rather than wait for them to fix the issues like i usually do, but then jobs changed so am now stuck looking in shop windows / at pictures :p

really hope it works out for you!
