Mortgage with defaults

Hi,
My OH is trying to get a mortgage with myself yet has two defaults on his credit file. One of which we are sure if fraudulent & is defaulted with Lowell Portfolio on behalf of Barclaycard. We have been trying to get the default removed however because payments were made from a HSBC account my partner had, they are saying the debt is his.
We did actually go to HSBC who looked through the closed account & they said they couldn't see any DD payments to Barclays or Barclaycard yet somehow Barclays have the account no'.
This default was listed as 2010, so has another 2 years to go.
There is also a default that is partially settled with HSBC which has one more year to go.
We are looking to go for the Help to Buy scheme so looking for a 75% mortgage. We have the 5% that is needed for the Help to Buy scheme but I'm assuming that we may need a bigger deposit to help us… any suggestions on what would be best for us is greatly appreciated.

short answer noDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Forget a Mortgage until after 6 years of clean credit file......0

thought as much, thanks0

Is there any history on your partners credit file relating to a debt owed to Barclaycard?
What's the other default for?0 -
No the debt just states Lowell Portfolio. It's taken us weeks and weeks with no help form Experian to tell us who it was and what and the Barclaycard process is ridiculous.
The second default is satisfied, marked as HSBC and I believe it was late payment which caused the default.0 -
What are the amounts of the defaults at registration and the dates of registration?
On which version(s) of his credit file do they appear?I am a mortgage broker. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
