3 month wait to get on electoral roll!

Hi all, I am a first time buyer and, being completely new to the mortgage application thing, I would really appreciate some advice.
I want to make sure my credit rating is as good as it can be before I apply so I have read the advice on this site. I have applied to get on the electoral roll with my council (London Harringey), I was on the roll in Clapham about a year ago but I moved and completely forgot about it for a year. I applied last week but have just missed their cut off for monthly updates. I'm told that I won't be put on the register until February 2014!
Does this mean I should hold off applying for a mortgage until Feb? I'm not sure if I am still on the register at Clapham - would that help or would it look bad that it's at the wrong address?
Thanks in advance.

In the good old days it could take up to 13 months to get on the register.
Ideally the VR would confirm exactly where you live. Credit scoring systems like it when it matches up nicely.
It's impossible to say whether or not it will be a deal breaker. But if you've lived at an address for over a year and you're not registered to vote there it doesn't look great.0 -
Have you registered on the electoral roll every year?0
