Gym Membership - Zinc Group

Hi,
in 2007-early 2008 (Cant remember exactly) I went for a gym trial at a small gym in the local area. It was backed by finance company Harwoods for payments and I joined. I did however cancel within two days due to my doctor advising against it. I wrote a letter and spoke to the gym and they cancelled my membership.
Now in 2013 I am getting emails from Zinc Group advising I owe £750 for a gym membership I didn't have.
I have spoken to CCCs and they advised me to ring the gym and ask them.. so I did.. They are now owned by someone else and have been for 6 years and advised me they had not heard of me and had no instructed anyone to raise a debt against me.
I can only assume that Harwoods have done so... Zinc group keep emailing and saying I need to pay this money.
Can anyone advise the best course of action... they have no contact information for me only an email and they have been getting more frequent. I do not owe this money as I legally cancelled my gym membership within the cooling off period.
I don't have any copies of any paperwork as it was so long ago.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
