Pounds to Pocket -Failing to agree payment plan

Hi Guys,

Need abit of advice, i have been trying to agree payment plan with Pounds to Pocket and provided a copy of my SOA (Statement of Affairs) and explained that i am in Financial Hardship.

The repayment plan would be only temporary over 6 months with a review on the 6th Anniversary.

After all attempts they will not agree to the plan. I was offering £46.50 for 6 months, which after all calculations is what i could afford, but they would not budge.

"I refered to the CFA (Consumer Financial Association) Section 6 of the lending code" as the response I got was we await your debt management plan details.

Not exactly helping people which is what they are breaching in Section 6.

I need to know when can you complain to the OFT? i have raised my complaint with Resolution department of p2p and awaiting a "slow" response.

Thanks

David

OFT can't do anything regarding individual complaints. Still worth complaining though, as the more complaints they get on file for a particular company, the more likely they are to review their license.

For individual complaints it is the FOS that you should probably go to. A complaint taken up by the FOS will cost P2P £550, and the FOS can order P2P to take whatever action they decide is needed to resolve you complaint.

  • It's seems that they are now agreeing after i refered them to Section 6 of the CFA.
  • Just pay them what you can afford - its YOUR money at the end of the day.

If they refuse, ask them to write it in black and white that they are REFUSING your offer.

Also, I'd be asking them that as a goodwill gesture to freeze any interest so that the money you do pay, actually lowers the balance.
  • All sorted guys thank you, they did say it would put a default on my file. however short term pain for long term gain.

Lesson learnt don't ever do PDL "EVER".

I think they like to try it on when you aren't in a DMP. They accepted just over £31/month for me through StepChange and that's over 5 years!
    Glad they've now agreed!
