Ex going into bankruptcy

My ex girlfriend who I have a mortgage with has told me she is going to file for bankruptcy, will her doing this effect my credit rating and getting a new mortgage when we sale our house next year. I am paying the mortgage so as not to go into arrears, and I understand that the OR will only be looking at her share of the house which is split 50/50 on a Deed of Trust.

    Yes there is a fair chance that this will (indirectly) affect your credit rating unless you take certain steps. The mortgage will have created a financial "association" between you and your ex - I recommend you get a copy of your credit report from Experian, Equifax or Callcredit to confirm this. You can request that you be "disassociated" from each other if your financial affairs are now entirely separate - see the Experian link below for further info:
